Installation

CueCapture is available for Windows and macOS. Download the installer for your platform and follow the steps below.

System Requirements

Windows

• Windows 10 or later (64-bit)
• 4 GB RAM minimum
• 200 MB free disk space
• Internet connection for Notion sync

macOS

• macOS 10.15 (Catalina) or later
• Apple Silicon (M1/M2) or Intel processor
• 4 GB RAM minimum
• 200 MB free disk space
• Internet connection for Notion sync

Choose the installer for your platform:

• Windows: CueCapture-Setup-x.x.x.exe
• macOS (Apple Silicon): CueCapture-x.x.x-arm64.dmg
• macOS (Intel): CueCapture-x.x.x-x64.dmg

Installation

Windows

1. Download the .exe installer
2. Run the installer (you may see a Windows SmartScreen warning - click “More info” then “Run anyway”)
3. Follow the installation wizard
4. CueCapture will launch automatically when installation completes

Note

Windows may show a security warning because CueCapture is not yet signed with an expensive code signing certificate. The app is open source and safe to use.

macOS

1. Download the .dmg file for your processor (arm64 for M1/M2, x64 for Intel)
2. Open the DMG file
3. Drag CueCapture to your Applications folder
4. Open CueCapture from Applications (right-click and select “Open” the first time)

Note

On first launch, macOS may warn that the app is from an unidentified developer. Right-click the app and select “Open” to bypass this warning.

First Launch

When you first open CueCapture, you’ll see the setup wizard that guides you through:

1. Notion API Key - Create a Notion integration and enter your API key
2. Database Selection - Choose which Notion database contains your tasks
3. Property Mapping - Map your database properties to CueCapture fields

Don’t worry if this sounds complicated - the setup wizard walks you through each step. Or you can follow our detailed API Key Setup guide.

Auto-Start (Optional)

You can configure CueCapture to start automatically when your computer boots:

Windows

1. Open CueCapture settings (click the gear icon)
2. Go to Preferences section
3. Enable “Start at login”

macOS

1. Open CueCapture settings (click the gear icon)
2. Go to Preferences section
3. Enable “Start at login”

Or add CueCapture to your Login Items in System Settings.

Updating

CueCapture automatically checks for updates and will notify you when a new version is available. You can also:

1. Check for updates manually in Settings → About
2. Download the latest version from GitHub and install over the existing version

Your settings and Notion connection are preserved when updating.

Uninstalling

Windows

1. Open Windows Settings → Apps → Installed apps
2. Find CueCapture and click Uninstall
3. Follow the uninstall wizard

macOS

1. Open Finder → Applications
2. Drag CueCapture to the Trash
3. Empty the Trash

Uninstalling CueCapture does not affect your Notion data. All your tasks remain safely in Notion.
